On the day of surgery, you can eat a light breakfast and take your regular medication (unless you have been instructed otherwise).
It is important to come on time and bring all requested documents (ID card, medical insurance financial obligation form, blood and ECG test results, summary of medical history and regular medications).
In the half hour before starting surgery, you will be asked to change into a surgical gown. Drops will be instilled to dilate the pupil of the eye to be operated, and blood pressure and pulse will be measured. You will be asked to take off all jewelry and make-up (it is recommended not to put on make-up at all on the day of surgery).
The surgery takes approximately 20 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia, with anesthetic drops.
At the end of surgery, after a few minutes of recovery, pulse and blood pressure will be measured again, you will be asked to change your clothes and the rest of the recovery process, including treatment, follow-up and restrictions will be explained to you.
If the power of your glasses lens changes frequently, you may want to contact your eye doctor about the need for surgery
It is recommended to avoid bathing in the sea or the swimming pool durnig the first month after the surgery
Wait at least 5 minutes between instilling different kind of drops
It is recommended to bring all your glasses and eye drops when you come to the ophthalmologist
One of the cataract signs, is glare from the headlights while driving at night, or while driving into the sun
It is forbidden to enter into swimming pool or seawhile wearing contact lenses
Do not wash or keep contact lenses in tap water
